A Different Kind of Reset

Lately, I’ve been thinking about how the seasons reflect what’s happening inside of us.

Every spring, I usually feel this urge to refresh everything—declutter the house, reset routines, get back on track. There’s something about the longer days and the return of green that makes me want to hit the reset button on life.

And most years? I go all in. I organize, plan, meal prep, revamp our schedules, and lean into that momentum.

But this year felt different.

Instead of wanting to do more, I found myself craving stillness. Grounding. Less pressure, more presence.

And it really caught me off guard—because I’ve always been a planner. My iPhone Calendar is colour-coded within an inch of its life. Every Sunday, I plan meals and prep what I can. It’s how our family stays afloat.

But lately… it’s started to feel like too much.

Too organized. Too scheduled. Too on.

I realized I wasn’t feeling supported by my systems anymore—I was feeling boxed in by them.

So I did something small.

I stepped outside and just stood there for a minute. I let the breeze touch my skin. I listened to the birds. I took a deep breath.

That moment didn’t change everything—but it did change something.

Because in that pause, I felt myself come back to centre.

That’s the kind of reset I’m leaning into this spring.

Not one that requires a checklist, or a burst of productivity. But one that invites me to soften. To listen. To let my energy move with the season, instead of pushing through it.

Maybe that’s what seasonal self-care really is. Not an overhaul—but a gentle tuning in. A reminder that we’re allowed to slow down, even in seasons that promise growth.

So if you’re feeling pulled in a different direction this spring—toward rest, quiet, space—I hope you give yourself permission to follow it.

You’re not falling behind. You’re shifting with the season.

And that counts, too.

With gratitude,
